I showed my blacksmith some artists that I thought he might like and he said he liked the work, and that would be something I could include within my work. He said he really likes a Japanese styled works, I took this idea and tried to link it with his work. The way that his work is solid but also messy maybe think that I could have something taken from his previous project and put my own twist on it.
Using an accordion book for my final design made me think that I could have something 'dark and creepy' on the front (because that's the kind of work he likes) whilst also having something that is delicate and influenced by the Japanese style.
He really like Alphonse Mucha's work because of how the work flows so well, although I took into consideration that he doesn't like to use colour that much, I took one of the works of Alpha's and changed it into a black and white version, my Blacksmith liked this idea more than the original one. I also found another image that was of the same design but slightly altered with using colour and had some changes to it, my Blacksmith really liked the idea of using little colour within this project.
I took into consideration that my blacksmith liked detailed work, I showed him some artists that loved to use typography in different styles such as Jonny Hannah and Rob Ryan but unfortunately he did not like their work because the designs were colourful and bright for his liking.
